13 AI mortgage tools, compared honestly (2026)
Published August 17, 2026
Every description below is taken from the vendor's own site and attributed, so you can check the wording yourself before it changes. Read the list as a map of which part of your file each tool touches, because that is where evaluations usually go wrong. A document extraction engine and a loan origination system will both be called "AI for mortgage" in a pitch, and they solve nothing alike. We build one of these tools. Loandock is listed last, in the row it actually belongs in, and at the end we say plainly why we would pick it for that row.
Ocrolus
Document analysis infrastructure
Their site describes an "AI workflow and analytics platform for lenders," positioned around faster and more accurate underwriting decisions from trusted data, with document understanding and fraud signals delivered into existing systems.
The job it's for: turning bank statements, pay stubs, and tax forms into structured data another system acts on, usually through an API.
Candor
Automated underwriting
Their site describes "AI-Powered Underwriting, Engineered" and calls the product a patented AI-powered underwriting engine that automates decisions across conventional, FHA, and VA loans and manages the condition lifecycle.
The job it's for: rendering the underwriting decision itself, for lenders whose constraint is underwriter capacity.
Sei AI
Front and back office operations platform
Their site describes an "AI Operations Platform for Mortgage & Banking," built around "Voice agents. Document intelligence. Compliance," and lists ICE among its named integrations.
The job it's for: contact-center work and document operations bought from a single vendor.
Copperlane
Borrower-facing origination assistant
Their site describes "The AI-Native Platform for Mortgage Origination" and an assistant called Penny that collects documents and answers borrower questions from a single dashboard.
The job it's for: loan officers who want the borrower back-and-forth handled before the file reaches an ops team.
TidalWave (SOLO)
Point of sale and borrower-facing origination
Their site didn't return a page when we checked in August 2026, so this one carries the category label and nothing else.
The job it's for: the front of the file, by category. We'll quote their own wording here once the page loads.
Lender Toolkit
Encompass-native automation suite and services
Their site invites lenders to "Run Encompass® like a pro with our fully integrated suite of automation tools, expert services, and pre-built AI solutions," and positions the company around optimizing Encompass rather than replacing it.
The job it's for: lenders standardized on Encompass who want plugins and implementation help from one vendor.
Prudent AI
Pre-underwrite income and eligibility
Their site leads with "Determine eligibility at intake" and describes a "Pre-Underwrite Automation Platform" that classifies docs, flags missing docs, and verifies income at origination.
The job it's for: deciding early whether a self-employed or bank-statement file will qualify at all.
Addy AI
Loan officer assistant
Their site leads with "Close mortgage loans in hours, not weeks" and describes custom AI agents that handle manual tasks in the mortgage process.
The job it's for: LO-side follow-up and inbox triage on files already in flight.
Vesta
Loan origination system
Their site describes an "AI-native loan origination system" and "the LOS where people and AI agents work together," with tasks routed to an agent or a person and every action logged.
The job it's for: the system of record, for a lender willing to change LOS.
TRUE
Enterprise docs-to-data automation
Their site leads with "Clean loan files. Fewer touches. Lower cost per loan" and says the company processes more than a million loans annually with end-to-end mortgage automation.
The job it's for: high-volume data extraction and data quality once documents are already in the file.
MOZAIQ
Agentic loan fulfillment platform
Their site describes "Agentic Mortgage AI, End to End" and calls itself an end-to-end intelligent mortgage automation platform covering loan setup through investor delivery.
The job it's for: lenders looking to replace several fulfillment vendors with one platform.
JazzX
End-to-end mortgage AI platform
Their site describes "The First Artificial Intelligence Platform for End-to-End Mortgage" and an AI execution platform built for governed automation and audit-ready decisions.
The job it's for: enterprise platform consolidation, where governance and auditability drive the purchase.
Loandock
Processing and condition fulfillment
Loandock is an AI loan processor that works the condition end to end inside Encompass: it collects and verifies borrower documents, files them to the loan, and marks underwriter conditions fulfilled. Loandock marks conditions fulfilled; your underwriter clears them. It does not stop at reading the document. It gets the document out of the borrower, checks it is the right type for the right period and person, files it, and rejects a wrong one with the reason instead of filing it. That is the entire product rather than one capability inside a platform, which is why we would pick it for this row. On live files that has meant 35 underwriter conditions fulfilled over one weekend, on a single live file.
The job it's for: teams whose bottleneck is the condition list and the borrower chase behind it.
How to use this list
Start from where your files actually stall. If underwriters are the queue, look at the underwriting row. If documents arrive and nobody can read them fast enough, look at extraction. If documents never arrive and conditions sit open for days, that's processing work, and it's a different purchase from the other two. Ask every vendor on your shortlist the same question: on a live file, what does your product write back into our system of record, and who is responsible for the result.
If you want the vocabulary before the shortlist, start with what an AI loan processor is, then watch a real condition get worked in the condition demo on our homepage.
For a head-to-head read on any single vendor here, the comparison index covers Candor, Ocrolus, Lender Toolkit and the rest, each described from that company's own public site.
Why we would pick Loandock
If your files stall on the condition list and the borrower chase behind it, that is the one job Loandock does, and it is the only job Loandock does. It runs inside Encompass, chases the borrower across text and email until the document arrives, verifies it, files it to the loan, and marks the condition fulfilled so your underwriter can clear it with the document already sitting there. It works nights and weekends, on every file at once, and it logs every message it sends. Every other row here is either aimed at a different part of the file or carries the condition list as one piece of a much wider platform. Pick a file that has been sitting, bring it to the walkthrough, and watch a condition get worked on it.
