Custom AI workflows for a mortgage shop

Published September 7, 2026.

Most shops asking for custom AI workflows want the software to follow their own rules: their lenders, their condition names, their document standards. Loandock is an AI loan processor set up around the way your shop already works, and nobody on your team has to build anything to get there.

What custom usually means in a mortgage shop

Owners rarely want software they have to build. What they want is software that follows the way their shop already works: their lenders, their condition names, their document standards, their order of operations.

That is a fair ask, because two shops running the same loan type still work it differently. The wrong answer is a project your team has to staff.

What Clara follows in your shop

Loandock is an AI loan processor. Clara is set up against the way you already work, and the setup is a conversation rather than a build.

  • Your lenders and their portals, and what each one wants at submission.
  • Your condition names and how your team labels a document in the LOS.
  • Your document standards: how recent, how many pages, whose name is on it.
  • Who you want contacted for what, and who is never contacted.
  • Which files Clara works, and which stay entirely with your processors.
  • When she stops and asks a person instead of deciding.

What you turn on and off

You choose the files Clara starts on: one loan officer, one branch, ten files, whichever is easier to read afterward. Your admin issues the access, limits what it reaches, and can revoke it.

Turning it off is the same call. Access comes back, the files stay in your LOS with the documents filed and the log intact, and your team carries on from where the work sits.

What stays with your team

Whatever you customize, the boundary does not move. Your underwriter clears every condition, lender policy and AUS stay authoritative, and Loandock does not make credit decisions or place phone calls.

Anything Clara is unsure about stops and goes to your processor with the documents already gathered. Your processors keep the judgment, and the log shows every action and the document behind it.

How to start

Bring the way your shop works to the walkthrough: the lenders you send to, the conditions you see most, the standards your processors apply. It runs 30 minutes on a demo file, so no borrower documents are involved.

After that, pick the first files. You pay by the file, and the figure depends on how many conditions those files carry.

Questions owners ask

Do we have to build anything?

No. The setup is describing how your shop works and issuing access, and Loandock does the configuration. Nobody on your team writes anything.

Can it follow our own document standards?

Yes. Clara checks what comes back against the standards your processors apply, including how recent a document has to be and whose name has to be on it. A document that misses the standard goes back with the reason.

Can we run it on one branch only?

Yes. You choose the files, and access is issued and revoked by your admin. Starting narrow is the usual way in, because it makes the comparison readable.

What if we work a loan type nobody has seen?

Clara works what she has been set up for and stops on what she has not, which lands on your processor's list with the documents attached. Your team's resolution is what the setup grows from.

Does it change how our team works day to day?

They work in the LOS they already use and read the same file. What changes is the list they get: shorter, and with the documents already gathered.
