Loandock vs Ocrolus: working the condition vs extracting the data

Ocrolus and Loandock both read borrower documents, which is why they end up on the same evaluation list. Ocrolus describes itself on its site as an AI workflow and analytics platform for lenders, reachable through an API and a dashboard, built so your team can make faster and more accurate underwriting decisions with trusted data. Loandock is an AI loan processor that works the condition end to end inside Encompass. Reading a document that is already in the file takes seconds. Getting that document out of a borrower who stopped replying is the part that takes three weeks, and that is the part Loandock owns.

What Ocrolus says it does

Their site describes cash flow analysis, income calculations, document understanding, fraud detection, and a review product it calls Inspect. It says the platform is accessible via API and dashboard with integrations into loan origination systems, and it claims better than 99% accuracy analyzing financial documents. Take every one of those claims at face value. All of them describe what happens to a document that has already reached you, and your own systems and your own people decide what happens after that.

What Loandock does with the same condition

Loandock does not start from a document that has already arrived. It starts from your condition list. It reads the file to work out what the underwriter actually asked for, sends the request to your borrower, follows up until the item is in, checks that it is the right document type for the right person covering the right period, files it to the loan in Encompass, and marks the condition fulfilled. Loandock marks conditions fulfilled; your underwriter clears them. When a borrower sends the wrong thing, Loandock rejects it with the reason and asks again, instead of filing it for a processor to find three days later.

Accuracy is not what your file is waiting on

Look at where the days go on a file that closed late. They go to the statement nobody sent, the paystub that came in for the wrong month, the letter of explanation your borrower keeps meaning to write, and the weekend that passed while a wrong document sat in a queue looking complete. Extraction accuracy on documents you already have does not touch any of that. Chasing does, and chasing is labor you are paying processors to do at 9pm. Loandock does that work and then carries each condition to fulfilled in Encompass with the document filed against it. On live production files, that has meant a live file carrying 120+ conditions and flags, worked start to finish in 7 days against the roughly 25 days that file would normally take. That is one file rather than an accuracy rate across a sample, and the rest of them are on the results page.

Why you choose Loandock

Buy the layer that owns the number you are judged on. Nobody grades your shop on parse accuracy. They grade it on the date the file closes, and that date is set by how fast open conditions come off the list. Loandock works that list inside your system of record: it asks your borrower for exactly what each condition names, keeps asking by text and email until the item lands, sends back anything wrong with the reason attached, files the right document against the condition in Encompass, and marks it fulfilled so your underwriter has a decision waiting instead of a hunt to run. It is priced per file, so you can put it on one pipeline and read the difference in your own milestone dates.
