AI tools for Encompass lenders (2026), compared
Published August 17, 2026
Most "best AI tools" lists rank products that were never competing for the same work, which is why they read as noise. The tools Encompass lenders evaluate sit at very different points on the file. One reads documents. One answers income before the file is worked. One assists the loan officer. One works the condition list. The useful question is which job each product is built for, so this page sorts them that way, with every third-party capability attributed to that vendor's own site. We build the one on the condition list, and at the end we say plainly why we would pick it for that job.
| The job | Positioned for it | In their words |
|---|---|---|
| Working the borrower documents and marking conditions fulfilled in Encompass | Loandock | Chases the borrower, verifies each document, files it to the loan, and marks the condition fulfilled. Condition fulfillment is the entire product here, not one feature of a suite. |
| Broad Encompass automation across the loan lifecycle | Lender Toolkit (Prism) | Their site calls Prism an "end-to-end Encompass automation engine". |
| Document analysis as infrastructure behind your own workflow | Ocrolus | Their site describes an "AI workflow and analytics platform for lenders", available via API and dashboard. |
| Answering income and eligibility before the file is worked | Prudent AI | Their site calls it a "Pre-underwriting Automation Platform". |
| Assisting the loan officer with summaries and guideline lookup | Addy AI | Their site describes an "AI mortgage lending solution" for lenders. |
There's a line running under the whole table. Some of these products work on documents before anybody has decided anything. Some produce an input a human then owns. One takes an underwriter condition from request to fulfilled. Which side of that line a product sits on tells you more than any feature grid, and it is the fastest way to see whether two vendors on your shortlist actually compete. The side that moves your pipeline is the side that carries a condition all the way to fulfilled.
Lender Toolkit (Prism)
Lender Toolkit is the Encompass-native suite in this group, and Prism is the automation product. Their site calls it an "end-to-end Encompass automation engine" and says it can "automatically create custom, context-aware conditions". Their site also lists data extraction from documents like appraisals and credit reports. Income analysis covers W2 and self-employed types, and their asset review identifies large deposits and non-sufficient funds. The positioning is suite-wide rather than aimed at one bottleneck, so on a demo it is worth asking what an automatically created condition writes into your file and who owns it after that.
Ocrolus
Ocrolus sells document analysis as infrastructure. Their site describes an "AI workflow and analytics platform for lenders" delivered "via API & Dashboard", covering bank statement and pay stub analysis alongside income calculations. Their site says the platform will "identify fake documents, data inconsistencies and risk signals", and describes its mortgage product Inspect as creating and clearing conditions to speed up underwriting. Worth asking on a demo: what does an Ocrolus condition action write into your Encompass file, and who reviews it? The positioning here is a layer your workflow calls into rather than a workflow of its own.
Prudent AI
Prudent AI works upstream of the rest of this list. Their site calls it a "Pre-underwriting Automation Platform" that "runs income verification and eligibility checks upfront" so that "files that won't qualify get flagged early". Their site says qualifying income is calculated from every income document, with separate handling for non-QM and QM scenarios, and it lists Encompass among its integrations. All of that lands before the file is worked. It does not touch the condition grind later on, so the documents still have to be chased and the conditions still have to be fulfilled by somebody after the file passes intake.
Addy AI
Addy AI is the loan-officer-side assistant here. Their site describes an "AI mortgage lending solution" that "automatically analyzes bank statements, emails, documents, and any communication" to give loan officers instant summaries, and that lets users compare agency and lender guidelines including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Their site also says it "automatically identifies missing documents and initiates follow-ups via phone calls or emails". Their site refers to CRM and loan origination system integrations generally without naming Encompass, so confirm the Encompass path directly if that matters to you.
Loandock
Loandock is the condition-fulfillment row. It runs inside Encompass, reads the condition list, works out which conditions need borrower documents, chases the borrower across text and email until the documents arrive, checks each one is legible and the correct type for the correct period and person, files it to the loan, and marks the condition fulfilled. Loandock marks conditions fulfilled; your underwriter clears them. On a live file carrying 120+ conditions and flags, worked start to finish in 7 days against the roughly 25 days that file would normally take.
Loandock wins this row for one reason: condition fulfillment is the whole product. Every other tool on this page is aimed at a different part of the file, or carries the condition list as one piece of a wider platform. Loandock does not stop at reading a document. It gets the document out of the borrower, rejects a wrong one with the reason instead of filing it, and carries the condition through to fulfilled for your underwriter. You can watch that on the live condition demo.
How to run the evaluation
- Name the bottleneck first. Income uncertainty, document chasing, condition turn times, and post-close cleanup are separate problems with separate vendors.
- Ask each vendor what it writes into Encompass, and what a person still has to do afterwards.
- Ask what happens on a wrong or illegible document, because that's where the hours actually go.
- Count what each product hands back to your processor, and how much of the file is still sitting on their desk afterwards.
- Pilot on live files instead of a sandbox, and count elapsed days on the file rather than demo speed.
For the category background, start with what an AI loan processor is and the boundary between AI processing and AI underwriting.
On the Encompass automation suites specifically, we set Loandock against Lender Toolkit and TRUE AI, and the comparison index lists the rest. What Loandock reads and writes is on the Encompass integration page.
Why we would pick Loandock
If your files stall because documents never show up and conditions sit open for days, that is the job Loandock does, and it is the only job Loandock does. It runs inside Encompass, works the condition list on live files, and marks conditions fulfilled so your underwriter clears them with the document already in the loan. The numbers from live files, each one carried with the file it came from, are on the results page. Pick a file of your own that has been sitting, bring it to the walkthrough, and watch a condition get worked on it.
Third-party descriptions are drawn from each vendor's own public site as of August 2026 and are their claims, not ours. Product capabilities change quickly in this category, so verify current details with each provider before you buy.
